A Letter From Max

Friends,

We find ourselves in a sober moment. These are uncertain times around the world and fears are rising. People who have never felt anxious before are suddenly weighed down with worry and are not sure what to do next.

Do you need encouragement right about now? Are you feeling anxious and uncertain? Do you find yourself in a season of isolation as events cancel, schools shift online, and churches need to close their doors to large gatherings?

When I need to stay calm, I turn to this Scripture: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7, NIV).

If you need help finding peace that transcends all understanding, I would like to invite you to join me for two special online events:

1. Online Church – we know that many will be unable to worship with their local congregation, either because of the need to remain at home, or because their church is taking a hiatus from regular gathering. Or maybe you just need some extra support from a community of faith. We’ll meet online, via Facebook  Live at 8:30 am CDT on Sunday, March 15, for a few minutes of prayer and encouragement, and will continue for the next several Sundays. Join us and invite others as well. https://www.facebook.com/maxlucado/.

2.  Anxious for Nothing Online Bible Study – starting Sunday, March 22, we will be offering a free online Bible study based on the book Anxious for Nothing. My prayer is that this study provides practical help for all of us as we seek to entrust our fears to God. The five-week study will conclude on April 25. We would love for you to join us at FaithGateway.com.

As we spend time together over the next few Sundays, we can encourage one another. These challenges are great, but God is greater.

Let us cast our worries on the Savior and Sustainer of our lives.

~ Max

    God Bless your total ministry.
Satan has been allowed to split our church. So heartbreaking Gods Holy Spirit is Not welcomed in some places called worship. Very sad.

  16. I’m not a member of Facebook either! What you’re doing is a very good thing, but I don’t think it’s right to show it on a platform (Facebook) that not everyone who needs the encouragement wants to join. I’ve been a huge fan of Max Lucado my entire adult life, but this exclusion of many Christians who want his help at this time is really shocking and disappointing to me.

  17. I’m not a member of Facebook either! I think what you are doing is a very good thing, but leaving out any Christian (or anyone!) who needs your help at this difficult time, but who aren’t members of a particular platform in order to view it, seems wrong and exclusive to me.

  18. This is wonderful, thank you. I look forward to starting the Anxious for Nothing Online Bible Study on the 22nd. Blessings to you and all who are reading.

  19. I don’t have Facebook but your check-in on YouTube brings me calm with tears of release. Thank you we are in further lockdown in Northern Ireland but this situation is happening all over the world. We are praying without ceasing. Praying for my friends who are facing this without a Saviour. Thank you for access to Anxious for nothing online videos without the need to be on Facebook
